***We are pleased to offer two forms of spots for those looking – monthly spots and the recently launched hourly/event directory listings. The questions below address the monthly unless otherwise stated.
When searching for parking spots why can’t I view their exact addresses?
We understand the importance of privacy and thus want to protect the people who list their spots until such time as the perfect match is found. Once we do make that connection however, we will immediately forward on all relevant parking spot logistics directly to each party (Seeker and Owner) so that the two can work out details.
What will it cost me?
As a prospective Renter or Seeker, it’s FREE! Yep. You heard us right. FREEEEEEE!
I’m always looking for that little extra value – is there an option to negotiate the price?
We are the first ones to always look for good value but just as in other businesses, sometimes the owner just doesn’t feel like negotiating their parking spots’ rate. So, it will be up to each independent situation and owner as to whether they feel like a little haggling.
What happens after I find my perfect spot?
Congratulations!! You will most likely have managed to save yourself a few hard earned dollars AND get to feel great about finding a parking spot on YOUR terms. Now, in terms of logistics, we will forward the parking spot Owner the Renter’s contact info etc. At that time we would suggest that the two parties contact each other directly to coordinate pick up/delivery of any required remotes/access passes etc. and to drop off post dated cheques should they be required.
What happens if I rent a spot and then when I get to it it’s nothing like I was expecting?
At parkingspots.com we are committed to helping both our Renters and Owners find happy solutions to their income and parking needs. By including pictures, full descriptions and as much info as possible we try to ensure that what you sign up for is what you get. That said, there are of course the odd unruly folks out there who are not as honest as you or I. SO, if you find yourself in a situation like this, give us a shout and we will do our best to help you figure out the best possible solution with as few tears shed as possible.
What happens if one day I show up and the parking spot I’ve paid for has another vehicle in it?
Unfortunately these things may happen on occasion as they would with any parking facility. The good thing is you’ll have the Owners’ info already so you can always give them a call. If you can’t reach them or are feeling rather nasty, tow trucks are always an option albeit one of last resort. You can always give us a shout too, we’re pretty crafty solution finders.
What if I want terms that aren’t monthly (say 5 days a week or ½ days two
days a week). Is that an option?
Frankly, anything ’s doable so long as the Owner of the spot is willing. If you find a location that’s suitable, doesn’t hurt to drop them an inquiry around this issue. I mean really, we are all entrepreneurs here right?
How do I know if the right person is using my parking spot?
It’s easy. You will have their contact info should you need to give them a shout at any point. We also recommend getting their vehicle make and model from them just to be sure.
What if something happens to my vehicle while it’s parked in the parking spot
Like any commercial or private parking lot you may park in, you do so at your own risk. Sorry, we do wish there was a nicer way to say that, but there just isn’t.
I can’t find a monthly spot that works for me?
C’mon. Really!!?? Well, sometimes there’s just so much demand in an area it’s impossible to keep spots from renting out as soon as they’re posted. Well here’s a little tidbit…if you click on ‘Parking Spot Alert’ we’ll be sure to email you the moment a suitable spot gets listed. Sound good??
I see you have hourly/event listings too. How do they work and what can they do for me?
We are super excited to have recently added this service to our site. Essentially what we’ve done and are continuing to build are a listing of parking lots across Canada and the US. The point of doing this is to offer our valued parking seekers a way to gauge the availability of lots in relation to where they need to go. So – you’re hitting up a sporting venue or a local play for the night? Start by checking out the various rates at lots near your desired venue. It helps you avoid circling the area looking for parking thus reducing emissions and time wasted in search of parking. Not a bad idea right?
