Parking Downtown a walk in the Park: New Website Claims

Downtown parking. A couple of four-letter words might come to mind at the mere thought of driving around aimlessly looking for a vacant spot. And they ain't pretty.
But thanks to the wonderful world of the web, those days of throwing temper tantrums in your car when you think no one's looking could all be behind you with the click of a button.
For a website that just launched a month ago, parkingspots.com is getting a whole lot of traffic.
"There's a severe shortage of street parking because so many people are already doing it. So people are looking for options and that's what the site offers," explains Aynsley Deluce, co-creator of parkingspots.com.
Basically, the site claims to take all the work out of finding somewhere to park. Whether you're looking for a parking spot or you're looking to rent one out, all you have to do is log on and register at no cost. Then once you get connected with someone who has what you're looking for, and only
then, is when you pay up.
How much does the supposedly hassle-free service cost you? It depends on how long
the spot is rented out for.
"You're either an owner or a renter of a parking spot," Deluce said. "I went online, put in my request and got an answer 24 hours later," said renter David Jarvis.
After getting hooked up with the hot commodity of a personal parking spot, Jarvis is saving a lot of money and doesn't have to worry about being ticketed. It's a win-win for renters and owners.
Sam Bennett owns a parking spot in the city that he doesn't need and is happy to be making a profit from having someone else use it.
"I'm getting $80 for it which I think is pretty good," he said.
And if you're not web savvy, it doesn't matter. Navigating through the site is apparently a walk in the park.
"I couldn't believe how simple it was. And I'm not really a computer guy."
Since its launch, 50 spots have already been registered.
